I learn the most about my relationship with God through being a parent. I have spent recent years, sadly pining for my two teenage daughters to throw me some crumbs of time and relationship. They are so wrapped up in their teenage lives, sometimes they forget I share the same planet. Brutally convicting, isn't it?

Getting an A on the B Team

Today I talked to my teenage daughter who is feeling the disappointment of not being chosen for the A volleyball team at school. There's that part of me, like every parent, that wants to talk to the coach about the mistake she's making. Really, my daughter is that good. But maybe there's a lesson to be learned from this experience…for both of us.
