Happy Birthday Mom!

Today would have been my mom’s 71st birthday. I love how God designed the genetic traits to keep our parents alive in us and in our children. Until I see her again, I am thankful that mom lives on in me (and my children). I just hope none of us ends up with 52 bras like she did…

See You Soon, Papa

While some of the world is now celebrating the annual Festival of Lights (Hanukah), many of the rest of us are grieving the loss of a great light in our lives and in our world. On December 4, 2010, a bright light and love faded from this earth when M.A. Thomas—Papa—died in his native India homeland. For those of you who know me, you know about Papa. For those of you who don’t, Papa was an adoptive father to more than 15,000 orphaned and abandoned children in India since beginning his work with orphans in the 70s. I Did Not Kill My Grandmother

Last Sunday, as I sat by my grandmother’s bedside only an hour before she died, it was difficult watching her labored gasps and listening to her moans as she went through the death process.
